Earlier this week, the member for Huntingdon and chief government whip, Stéphane Billette, announced on behalf of the ministère de Transports Robert Poëti that funds of $100,000 will be granted to the MRC of Jardins-de-Napierville. This amount will be contributed to the organization and operation of public transportation services.
“I am extremely happy to announce this good news which will allow the MRC des Jardins-de-Napierville to develop its public transportation services for the current year. It is a regional initiative showing the willingness of the MRC des Jardins-de-Napierville to support the transportation of persons in a responsible and sustainable way,” expressed Stéphane Billette.
This subsidy is in line with article 2 “Subventions au transport collectif” of the Programme d’aide au développement du transport collectif. The objective of this program, among others, includes supporting the development and use of regional public transportation particularly by financially supporting the municipal community to organize and operate public transportation. You can find more details about the program on the ministère des Transports website at www.mtq.gouv.qc.ca.
