Rubber ducks were floating down the Chateauguay River this past Saturday, and despite its best efforts, the rain didn’t thwart the race to the finish line.
As in past years, all 3,000 tickets were quickly sold at various locations in the community. Around 150 people showed up the the Recreation Centre in Ormstown for the festivities.
"Many children took advantage of the inflatable games and worked on their children's passport at the same time with a contest organized by la Sûreté du Québec," said Ghislain Schinck, president of the Ormstown Lions Club.
The $3,000 first place winner was Jean-François Blais from Huntingdon, second place winner was Raymond Labelle from Ormstown, who won $1,000. In third place, both Johanne Primeau (St-Antoine Abbé) and R.A. Anderson (Ormstown) won $250. Finally, $100 prize winners included Anita Daoust (Ormstown), Daniel Dumas (St-Chrysostome), Kelly-Ann Himbeault (St-Louis), Jim Barrett (Barrie, Ontario), Denis Roy (Huntingdon) and Denis Mailhot (Dundee).
